Two-step engagement, also known as a campaign goal or objective, requires customers to complete two distinct actions to be considered engaged with a campaign. The first step occurs when a customer interacts with a campaign message (for example, by opening an email or clicking a link in an SMS). The second step involves the customer achieving a predefined goal, such as logging into their account or playing a specific slot machine from a designated provider.
ℹ️ This functionality is available for both one-off and dynamic campaigns across retention and lifecycle-based campaigns.
Step-by-Step Instructions
-
Open Campaign Preferences:
- Navigate to the preferences section of your retention campaign.
-
Disable Global Settings:
- Uncheck or disable the option to Use Global Settings to enable campaign-specific customisation.
-
Activate Two-Step Engagement:
- Expand the Engagement Preferences section.
- Enable the two-step engagement action.
-
Select a Vertical/Product:
- Choose the relevant vertical or product category for your campaign goal.
- Goals associated with specific products will appear under their designated vertical.
- For goals not tied to a specific product, select the General category.
-
Assign a Specific Goal:
- For example, assign a goal that requires the customer to wager any value on a slot machine named "Dracula" within a specific game category.
- Once a customer wagers on "Dracula," they are considered engaged, and all subsequent activity is tracked and attributed to the campaign.
- Since the channel engagement actions are set to record the customer as "participated," any wager on that specific game will fulfill the campaign goal. However, if the desired engagement is for the customer to click an email link or open a message, administrators should adjust the channel engagement settings accordingly.
These instructions ensure that the two-step engagement process is correctly configured, enabling precise tracking of customer actions and optimising campaign performance.
