Creating a Real-Time Triggered Journey

4 min. readlast update: 03.14.2025

Journeys, also referred to as automations or drip campaigns, enable the creation of simple or complex automated workflows that are triggered by specific player events. These workflows can be used to engage, retain, or reactivate players based on their behaviour.

There are over 70 real-time trigger types available within Journeys, allowing for highly targeted customer interactions. Each trigger is categorised under a specific vertical (e.g., Casino, Sports, Lottery) or as General, if it is not specific to a particular vertical.

To explore the range of real-time triggers available within Journeys, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Journeys section.
  2. Drag and drop an Online Event block from the Triggers panel.
  3. Select a Product from the dropdown menu.

  1. The system will display a list of available triggers specific to the selected product.

By using real-time event triggers, brands can create automated responses to key player actions, optimising customer engagement and retention strategies.

⚠️ Only Data Category A is supported in real-time journey triggers. Consult the data policy for further information.

Define Actions Based on Goal Achievement

If the Goal Is Achieved (Yes Path):

  1. Attach a Reward action to the Yes branch of the Goal block.
  2. Configure the Reward action to automatically assign a bonus or free bet to the player's account.

If the Goal Is Not Achieved (No Path):

  1. Attach an Email action to the No branch of the Goal block.
  2. Configure the email content to re-engage the player with a reminder or an alternative offer.

Limiting participation in Real-time Triggered Journeys

To prevent excessive player engagement in a Journey, participation can be controlled using two key limitations:

  1. Time-Based Participation Limit – Restricts repeated participation within a specified number of days.
  2. Total Participation Limit – Caps the maximum number of times a player can enter the journey.

These settings ensure that players do not repeatedly trigger the same automation too frequently, maintaining a balanced engagement strategy.

Configuring Participation Limits

  • Limit Repeated Participation: Defines the minimum number of days that must pass before a player can participate again.
  • Limit Participation: Specifies the maximum number of times a player can enter the journey in total.

Example Configuration:

  • If Limit Repeated Participation is set to 30 days, and
  • Limit Participation is set to 3 times,
  • The player will be eligible to enter the journey once per month, up to a total of 3 times (i.e., for 3 months).

By following these steps, brands can create intelligent, automated engagement journeys that:

✅ Respond dynamically to player actions.
✅ Increase retention through timely notifications and rewards.
✅ Optimise reactivation strategies by adapting based on player behaviour.

This approach ensures highly personalised interactions, improving the overall customer experience and lifetime value.
