The SMS channel includes the following features:

  • Unlimited message storage
  • Multi-lingual support, with a default language option
  • Message tracking, including sent and delivered status
  • In-message link tracking for engagement insights
  • Unsubscribe feature, automatically appending a link (e.g., QuitSms.me/xXxX)
  • URL shortener, which automatically shortens any links placed in the message using the https://sms1.me domain

Testing an SMS Message

To preview an SMS before sending, use the Test button located at the bottom right of the SMS editor.

Segment Selection for Centralised Content

If the SMS contains centralised content tags, the system will prompt the user to select a segment for preview. This ensures the test message accurately reflects how it will appear to different audience segments. By selecting a segment, users can verify how dynamic content is displayed before finalising the SMS for distribution.

Important SMS Guidelines

Before using the SMS channel, consider the following:

URL Shortening & Tracking

  • Any URL placed in the SMS message is automatically shortened to a format like Sms1.me/xXxX, reducing character count and enabling click tracking.
  • URL shortening can be disabled in Settings → SMS Settings.
  • To prevent automatic shortening, omit https or http from the URL (e.g., https://www.mydomain.com/promo will be shortened, but mydomain.com/promo will not).
  • If URL shortening is disabled, click tracking will not function.
  • If a campaign’s engager setting is set to "Clicked", but URL shortening is disabled, engagers will instead be assigned based on delivery status.

Unsubscribe Options

  • The unsubscribe feature can be enabled in Settings → System Preferences. Once activated, the system will automatically append an unsubscribe link (e.g., QuitSms.me/xXxXx) to all outgoing SMS messages.
  • Alternatively, disable the above option in System Preferences and add an unsubscribe link manually to every SMS by clicking the unsubscribe link beneath the SMS content area. Any text within the curled braces can be altered to match the appropriate language.

e.g.

English: {#UNSUB}STOP?{/#UNSUB}

Italian: {#UNSUB}Ferma?{/#UNSUB}

By following these guidelines, users can optimise their SMS campaigns for effective delivery, tracking, and compliance.
